damaged/defective parts table Explanation: As per references in the discussion box. One of these gives the literal translation of 'damage table', but I think that's just a very literal translation for the benefit of the reader, not necessarily a widely used term. |

Products Failure Analysis Explanation: The German idea behind the - whatever Tisch is more figurative. In order to do things orderly/decently or in German ordentlich you sit and do things at a table, so e.g. der Verhandlungstisch, the negotiating table; Stammtisch (you need to sit at that one to be safe when beers start having an effect) The meaning behind Schadentisch is used in technical application and is "product failure analysis" (if there is a problem with an aeroplane you'd be hard pressed to put it on a table!). Sometimes it's made to look more than it is and then it's called product development towards the client. (who wants to admit that their product isn't up to scratch) Example sentence(s):
