Russian term or phrase: замыкаться на
This is part of an obscurely written academic article on how technologies in the media should be used to overcome ethnic stereotypes about migrant workers, "overcoming value-semantic barriers" through positive media content.

Субъективный опыт постигающего информацию, **замкнувшись на объективных значениях или объективированных смыслах,** характеризуется смысловым приращением, динамика которого и может быть названа продуктом убеждения – ценностным приращением.

The whole thing is mysterious to me, but especially the use of замыкаться на.

Thanks!

predicated upon
Explanation:
The learner's subjective experience predicated upon objective notions and objectified meanings is characterized by semantic additions of which the dynamics may be called the product of conviction - that is, a value-based accretion. Something like this, perhaps, although I am not quite sure this Derridaesque garbage actually means anything. Anyhow, what do we care what it means? We are not paid for that:)

Some folks have all the luck, huh? Cheers, Susan.

Thanks, товарищ! I think "predicated upon" makes the most sense here, even though the Russian word may be used wrongly. I think the idea is that the racist youngster is to be confronted in the improved media by "objective" information about migrants, which will make him less racist. Thanks to everyone else too.

I think what he means here is only seeing/considering certain types or areas of information and possibly missing other important pieces, or perhaps a bigger picture.
