German term or phrase: Gleitstückfeder
Hallo!

Friction block spring; sliding block spring
Explanation:
Hi Thomas, I don't know what UIC dictionary you're using, but mine gives "friction block" and "sliding block" for "Gleitstück", and "spring" is the most obvious extension, so I'd go for one of these, if you can tell from the text if it's supposed to cause friction or to slide.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hi David, Thanks! My UIC Dict says the same - I just wanted to make sure there's no fixed, special term for it. Railway language has traditional elements - and words - which not always can be compensated with word constructions like this. But I think I'll go for it.

Explanation:
Gemäß AVV, Anlage 9 gilt:
Anhang 1 - Fehlerkatalog, Punkt 4.8.2 Gleitstückfeder gebrochen
• Maßnahme aussetzen – Fehlerklasse 4
Anhang 2 – Definition der Fehlerklassen (Auszug)
• Fehlerklasse 4 - Hauptfehler

lisoir m; lissoir m – Gleitstück n – side bearer (friction block)

Side bearer liner made of an asbestos-free, oil-proof, moulded friction material, made on the basis of synthetic elastomers and thermo-setting resins reinforced with non-organic fibres with addition of friction modifiers.
It meets the requirements of UIC 510-1. It is characterized by high mechanical strength.

6. SECONDARY SUSPENSION
The UIC-interface between the car body and the bogie frame for freight wagons with Y25 bogies consists of a centre pivot bearing and two side bearers as shown in Figure 12. [7]. The pivot bearing has three rotational and no translational degrees of freedom. A composite-material intermediate layer provides load dependent frictional damping. The spring side bearer is mounted atop the ends of each bogie and consists of a composite-material friction pad supported by springs. Overall the connection between car body and bogie frame is almost rigid.
