(pipe) plug

Explanation:
'Plug' or 'pipe plug' seems to be the generic term in the context ("Tech/Engineering - Engineering (general) / Pipe fittings") you've provided. In any case, the source text says Eine Bezeichnung für einen Verschlussstutzen hat folgenden Aufbau, so the Aufbau of the Verschlussstutzen is there for clarification.

Pipe plugs are available in many shapes, forms and diameters.

@ David Williams:
In your discussion box post, you say, "pipe fitting plug does seem promising".
In your note to answerer, you say, "ich vermute mal, dass 'plug' deswegen falsch wäre".
Well, well, what can I say, except to voice your own concern: "Es scheint irgendwie wirdersprüchlich".
Cheers, David :-)

Notes to answerer
Asker: Das "stutzen" macht mich stutzig. Es scheint irgendwie wirdersprüchlich, da ein Stutzen ja meistens eine Verbindung ermöglich statt zu verschließen, aber ich vermute mal, dass "plug" deswegen falsch wäre.

Asker: This manual describes all of the manufacturer's products, with each section beginning with the sentence "Eine Bezeichnung für einen XXX hat folgenden Aufbau", followed by a description of the nomenclature for that component/product.
