About a hotel group, I had initially referred to this as the story of xxx but here I think I would need a different term, pls see below thanks

I've given my answer an initial capital letter as I'd start the sentence with that. It's the strong point of the sentence, the meat as it were, and it needs to be emphasised. I might well put an adjective or two before 'tale' though.

I certainly wouldn't use saga or soap opera as I don't think they're suitable marketing terms. Both have negative connotations from TV, and I'm sure the hotel wouldn't welcome them. As Carol said, I think it's a bit soon to be talking of history or legends.

I hesitated to post this but the Hilton refers to its own past this way and there are plenty examples of 'storied' meaning eventful, colourful. I wonder if the qualifiers could be worked into the sentence and sound natural.
