Cercando e confrontando, trovo che l'espressione più usata è questa, benché se si trovi anche _pianura di sale_.

Explanation:
Mi sono ricordato che a Boneville negli Usa fanno le gare di velocità d'auto su immense pianure di sale. Anche lì le chiamano salt flat.
Il sito Wordreference le traduce come distese saline.

Pianura di sale


Explanation:
Buongiorno, il termine l'ho trovato reso come "pianure di sale" . Parlando di Bonneville (stato dello Utah- USA) si fa riferimento a delle pianure di sale.
Nella guida del Marocco scritta da PaulClammer si cita un articolo di Brendan Sainsbury in cui si parla di "pianure di sale".
