Estoy traduciendo un contrato de compraventa venezolano de un galpón. El país destino es Canadá. En el contrato, se establece que los compradores pagarán el precio del inmueble en 12 cuotas mensuales iguales y consecutivas. Más adelante se indica que el vendedor le dará un descuento a los compradores si:

"En caso de que los mencionados compradores **renuncien al beneficio del plazo para el pago del precio**, nuestra representada se compromete a hacerles un descuento de acuerdo al esquema siguiente: si la renuncia se produce al inicio del primer mes, les descontará la suma de VEB xxx; si la renuncia se produce al inicio del segundo mes, les descontará la suma de VEB xxx (...); si la renuncia se produce al inicio del duodécimo mes, les descontará la suma de VEB xxx".

I thought this was the plazo de vencimiento, so acceleration of the due date or maturity cf. arts. 1,127 and 1,129 of the Spanish Civil Code.

NB a guarantor/surety cannot plead the benefit of the time for payment - see thsecond example sentence.

BTW, installment in BrE is spelt installment in AmE.
