In a fashion context, this tends to mean embellishment in the form of sequins, holes, appliqué, feathers or whatever, so "fancy-work", as suggested by Elizabeth, or "embellishment" would probably work. It could be fancy stitching, but might not be.

There is such a thing as "fancy-stitch" in knitting and other forms of needlecraft.

Again, without the other bullet points, it's virtually impossible to translate this but I wondered whether it just meant "Easy"? There's nothing fancy about it, no complicated stitches and it's therefore suitable for somebody who is not a very skilled or experienced knitter. As I said in the title, this is me thinking outside the box.

Well, even having those other 2 bullet points would help us get the idea; and what is it that introduces this short bulletted list? What KIND of textile products are involved?
Also, do note very carefully that the ABSENCE of 'un' in the FR text completely changes the meaning, and if it is a bullet point written by a native FR speaker (whom we assume is literate!), then you simply HAVE to interpret it in the sense of 'not very fancy' — which is why the other bullet points might help! Had the meaning been 'a bit of fancy', then I feel sure a conscientious writer would NOT have simply omitted the 'un' — this is one of those grammatical points that is not optional!

Please could we have the context. I agree with Beatriz that it must be "un peu de fantaisie". Couldn't it mean that one of the ingredients is a little imagination on the knitter's part?

Hi Anna. I believe your second assumption - imaginative design - is correct, but the article "un" is missing. "Peu de fantaisie" means little or no imagination.
