Diversité disciplinaire

when I was at French university a long time ago, this kind of module was referred to as "une unité de valeur libre" - the essential term being 'libre'; the term 'interdisciplinary' also comes to mind, as does the term "optional module". I'm not proposing this last as an answer as it doesn't really translate the "diversité disciplinaire", but I'd say it does correspond to the actual units on offer.

It's a category of courses in the 3rd year of some Parcours (Droit and Administration Publíque) in the Mention Droit et Sciences Politiques of the Licence Droit, Economie, Gestion. In each semester you have to choose courses from each of three categories. In other years/parcours the names of these categories are different, but the structure is the same. See:

The courses are practically the same as those in the first category, here called Approfondissements disciplinaires, but with fewer credits and hours and lower weighting. You choose different ones, of course. So I suppose the idea is something like diversification in the major subject.

I have, but didn't find anything. Obviously I thought of "disciplinary diversity" and will settle for it if I don't get a better proposal.

checked the university's website? Many French university websites have an English option.
Any reason to reject "disciplinary diversity"?
