French term or phrase: assignations de l'adult
Hello,
I'm stuck on a phrase because of the term "assignation".
The sentence in French is as follows: "Quel est l’impact des assignations de l’adulte envers l’enfant, considéré comme : pénible, bête, moqueur…"
This phrase refers to a cartoon strip where a child-minder is reporting a child's behavior to the parent, in front of the child, and in the conversation bubble coming from the child-minder is an illustration of the following: donkey + monkey = child.
Would it be correct to suggest that "assignation" is like "assigning/sticking labels to the child"?
Many thanks in advance for you helpful suggestions!
