Tech/Engineering - Electronics / Elect Eng / Electrical locking mechanisms
French term or phrase: sabot
This term appears twice in quick succession (see below) as headings in a technical specifications document that I am translating for a call for tenders. It appears in a section relating to a variety of electrical locking systems for a large government building.

Les contacts magnétiques pour montage au sol ou sur grande porte devront avoir les mêmes caractéristiques que les contacts magnétiques haute-sécurité (voir ci-dessus). La distance de détection maximale peut néanmoins aller jusqu'à 80mm.

retainer / detent

Explanation:
"Each DRW-L door detent / door retainer is fitted with a spring loaded release pin mounted centrally within the electro-magnet. On power off, the release pin then ensures that the fire door is pushed away from the door detent / door retainer."

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks B D Finch, but I don't think this has to do with locking mechanisms; I think it relates to a pair of magnetic sensors (one on the door/window and one on the frame) that trigger an alarm when the sensors lose contact with one another.
