thanks Ana for your help! Wikipedia says the following: In the US, large globe artichokes are frequently prepared by removing all but 5–10 mm (0.2–0.4 in) or so of the stem. To remove thorns, which may interfere with eating, around a quarter of each scale can be cut off. To cook, the artichoke is boiled or steamed. The core of the stem tastes similar to the artichoke heart, and is edible.

Would that mean if I used core that it would sound like the core of the stem rather than the core of the heart?

I had suggested "stemless artichokes" but then deleted my suggestion after finding an explanation by someone saying that "caprichos" are the "younger artichokes".

Maybe you can use something like "artichoke cores":

Thanks for your help everyone. I've asked the agency and got this answer - El "capricho" es el centro del corazón de la alcachofa, la parte más tierna. Y por lo que veo en la web, tienen de dos tamaños "normal" (por así decirlo) y mini.

Has anyone ever heard of this in English?

In the meantime, I think I found the correct explanation:
"Los tiempos cambian y aquellas pequeñas alcachofas de mis años jóvenes, ahora se las llama “caprichos” y envasadas en frascos de cristal se pueden comprar en establecimientos gourmet"

I.e., "caprichos" are the smaller artichokes as we can see on the link provided by the asker. There are more artichokes in the "caprichos" jar than in the first jar, which has the regular size artichokes.

The jar says "mini caprichos" when, in fact, it should probably say "Mini corazones de alcachofas ("caprichos").

"Alcachofas" is feminine, and "caprichos" is masculine, so what does that tell us?

I'm guessing capricho has the same meaning as the English "fancy". Could it mean extra high quality, or maybe stuffed?
