layers of lime render / lime rendering Explanation: It refers to the application of a lime mortar over the surface of the stone (or brick) to provide a smooth surface (raso: level). Historically it was very common. It's the first layer of rendering, basically the same thing as enfoscado. You can whitewash over a lime render, or add a further layer of render which is called revoque (verb: revocar).
