Spanish term or phrase: nos invita a sumergirse en la desembocadura de su historia
I'm translating a text to invite people to an art show. Context:

En esta muestra, con estas 40 obras, la artista los invita a sumergirse en la desembocadura de su historia visual personal, a partir de sus vivencias y percepción del entorno de su ciudad natal.

Gracias a todos!

invites us to dive/ immerse into the outcome

Explanation:
of his story...

I think this is the meaning: he invites people to immerse in the story of his life.

Example sentence(s):
  • A benefit for the audience of suspending disbelief is thus the ability to immerse in the story without taking a meta-position of judgement.
  • The viewer has to decide if he wants to immerse in the story the photographer wants to tell

invites you to immerse yourselves in the outpouring of her personal visual story

Explanation:
...the artist invites you to immerse yourselves in the outpouring of her personal visual history ...

The context says "los" rather than "nos" in the question. Otherwise it would be "the artist invites us to immerse ourselves..."

agree  Lisa Jane: or submerge yourselves-works well with 'outpouring'!

  -> Thanks Lisa!

neutral  philgoddard: I don't think we would use the second person plural in this context. Second person singular maybe, but "us" is more appropriate.

agree  philgoddard: Or "immerse ourselves in". But I would ignore "desembocadura" - it makes the metaphor too complicated, which I think some of the other answers are.

  -> Exactly, because it appears to be a contradiction;"desembocadura" is where the river ends, so there's no "history"

the artist invites [us] to immerse ourselves/delve into her personal outlet of visual history

Explanation:
Just another idea:

[los/nos - you have both] invita a sumergirse en la desembocadura de su historia visual personal ...

the artist invites [us] to immerse ourselves/delve into her personal outlet of visual history, ... experiences and perceptions....hometown. "Outlet" may not be the perfect word, and I am sure other may have better options.

desembocadura
WordReference English-Spanish Dictionary © 2015:
desembocadura nf (final de un río o canal) mouth n
(large river) estuary n

English:
mouth - outlet

Explanation:
I think it's clear that "historia" means 'story' in this case.

invites us to submerge ourselves in the outpouring of her personal visual story

Explanation:
The 'desembocadura' when used in its technical context is the river estuary or mouth of the river. This is where the river water is released to the sea. When used in a different context in this case the work of an artist the mouth of the river can be extrapolated to mean the place where the artist releases their personal story in the format of their art. Like the river outpouring to the sea the artist's story outpours through their works.

Example sentence(s):
  • In an outpour of emotion the artist finally released the anguish of her childhood in her paintings
