"L’Entoilage traditionnel

Les très belles vestes seront « entoilées » avec une toile traditionnellement en laine et parfois en coton ainsi qu’un renfort en crin, de chèvre ou de cheval qui structure le vêtement, cousu souvent à la main, c’est un gage de qualité et de durée.

Pourquoi du crin ? Parce qu’il est malléable et qu’à l’aide d’un fer chaud le tailleur lui fera épouser exactement la forme du veston. Suivant le résultat souhaité, votre tailleur utilisera différentes sortes de toiles et différentes sortes de crin combiné judicieusement.

Ainsi entoilée votre veste possédera donc trois couches indépendantes (doublure, plastron de toile, tissu). Des morceaux plus petits d’étoffe de crin et de toile aideront à structurer les épaules puis les poches. Tout ce travail qui demande des heures s’appelle la mise en toile. Le rendu de votre veston n’en sera que plus fluide, plus souple, en un mot plus chic ! Cette technique, longue et onéreuse à réaliser, est bien sûr généralement réservé à la grande mesure."
