I'm afraid I don't agree with my two peer comments below. The example given by texjax is a do it yourself reference and therefore does not apply to architecture that is older. to install, lay or set does not convey the full meaning of the word allettare, which calls on the attractiveness given to the finish. You will know what kind of piece you are translating and what type of publication Mairi-Claire which would form the basis of context for this.

Asker: thanks Rita - that could be a possible solution. I had already seen the various dictionaries but could just not make with the meaning of allettare and the context.
