Schwer zu sagen, was damit genau gemeint ist. Ich tendiere zu „Aufnahme“ für Werkzeug oder Werkstück“, kann dies aber nicht belegen. Von den Abblildungen ausgehend, könnte es sich aber um einen Kupplungsflansch handeln.

Explanation:
Bei dem angegebenen Link ist anscheinend das Foto links unten relevant. Offensichtlich befindet sich auf der Achse des Zahnrads ein Ventilator, der über die Schrägverzahnung z. B. von einer Welle angetrieben wird. (Siehe zur Erläuterung auch meinen Link.)
Ich hoffe, ich konnte ein bisschen weiterhelfen.
