neutral  Tony M: I have serious doubts about using 'upkeep' in this sense of 'keeping up' — surely it normally means 'maintenance'?

neutral  Nikki Scott-Despaigne: "upkeep" means cost of maintaining in good state of reapri. This is about a system holdng the device in place beofre the final fitting.
