What kind of house is a 'lazy house'?

Context.
From "The Missing Juror" (1949) US movie:
- What did you say that pal name was? Yeah, the pal you said you saw hanging in the lazy house.
- He was a newspaper man. Name, Peter Jackson.

I've found 58.600 results searching the term 'lazy house' with Google, but none of them tells me what kind of house it is.

Selected answer:the Lacey house
Explanation:
Definitely an "s" sound, not a "z" sound; i.e. the house belonging to a person or family whose surname was Lacey.

There's no need to have a character called "Lacey" in the film. I believe that in the US, where naming houses this way is more common than in the UK, houses can acquire and retain the name of a previous owner.
