I am not completely sure about the meaning of "flooded" in the following passage:


By offering a nonverbal gesture instead of just a bunch of logical, left-brained words, this father was able to connect with his little son’s right brain, the side more directly connected to and also * flooded * by the downstairs brain


May it mean "strongly influenced"?
