Unsafe working conditions sounds fine for this term, but I wouldn't use wikipedia as a credible source for any term. Of course, you probably don't need to translate the other term (speciale) in your text, so unsafe working conditions would be just fine, and let's leave the other term out :) I would go for highly/extremely unsafe conditions for the other one, though.

Based on Annamaria's definitions posted, I think it sounds like what we in UK would call:

Although the term "unsafe working conditions" sounds more likely to me at this point.

Thank you so much for all the information which is not only useful for me, but an interesting way to learn about Romanian life. In the meantime, I have the general impression now of what this term covers and I was wondering if "hazardous" or "unsafe" working conditions might be suitable.

Also, I am having a problem connecting the term with the rest of the phrase and I am confused about which noun "cu" refers to. What I mean is, in English if we put "place of work WITH unsafe/hazardous working conditions" on its own in a table heading like this, it would imply that the person had to enter ONLY the work places that had those conditions. On the other hand, if we said "place of work AND work in hazardous/unsafe conditions", it would cover all the jobs concerned.

Annamaria is right - Romanian laws distinguish between "condiţii deosebite" and "condiţii speciale" - but the "scale" is "condiții normale/deosebite/speciale. So "deosebite" must be between "normale" and "speciale".
Conditii deosebite de munca
Locurile de munca in conditii deosebite reprezinta acele locuri care, in mod permanent sau in anumite perioade, pot afecta esential capacitatea de munca a asiguratilor datorita gradului mare de expunere la risc.

Conditii speciale de munca
Locuri de munca in conditii speciale reprezinta acele locuri de munca unde exista factori de risc profesional, care, prin natura sarcinii de munca si a conditiilor de realizare a acesteia, conduc in timp la reducerea prematura a capacitatii de munca, imbolnaviri profesionale si la comportamente riscante in activitate cu urmari grave asupra securitatii si sanatatii angajatilor si/sau a altor persoane.

Lara, please note that Romanian laws distinguish condiţiile deosebite and condiţiile speciale, these are two different categories, besides the normal conditions.

Please read the text below for an explanation of the difference. It is practically a difference in terms of the duration of exposure to various occupational hazards. People work in "particularly arduous" (deosebite) conditions if their exposure, based on their total working hours, could lead to occupational diseases.
