Del 900 avanti Cristo a Sacco è la costruzione del campanile dell’attuale chiesa di S. Silvestro. Questa costruzione per stile ed altezza è da attribuire al periodo riferito. Gli stadi poligonali, di sapore longobardo, costituiscono l’ossatura di tutta la struttura. Simile ai torrioni rivieraschi del periodo svevo ma più snello, con un gradiente di rientro che vede gli ultimi stadi ridotti proporzionatamente in grandezza, in modo da offrire all’insieme l’aspetto di un pinnacolo armonico e nello stesso tempo dinamico, quasi come se tutta la struttura fosse dotata di movimento. Gli stadi conico e cilindrico, anche se arrivati dopo nove secoli, hanno completato architettonicamente la costruzione, trasformandola definitivamente in campanile, proiettandola col suo aspetto sobrio verso l’alto in un atteggiamento sacrale, meditativo. Infatti più che un campanile era una torre dalla quale si dominava tutta la vallata. Gli spigoli della struttura sono orientati in maniera perfetta verso i punti cardinali fondamentali alla maniera longobarda.
