Sto adattando un video sulla vendita di case in Alaska. Ad un certo punto si entra in questa casa e si parla di "mud room", poi specificando si tratti di un "arctic entry" che isolerebbe la casa dal freddo esterno, non permettendo la fuoriuscita del calore interno. Non ho capito se si parla sempre di ingresso come stanza o proprio della porta. In ogni caso esiste una traduzione specifica in italiano?

When you come in from outside wearing your Bunny Boots, you don't just walk into the living room. Most Alaskan houses and cabins have an "arctic entry" where you discard your boots and put on your "mukluks."

An "arctic entry" is a small room between the front door and the main house that helps to keep the cold out and offers a good place to take off your parka and boots. Put your on "mukluks," soft, animal-skin slippers or boots, and you are ready to go into the house.

dal link di cui sopra risulta essere indubbiamente uno stanzino dove lasci le scarpe che usi per girare fuori (di isolamento termico non si parla...)

non mi risultano espressioni italiane invalse, magari lo puoi lasciare in inglese (se poi spiegano cos'è), oppure "osare" una proposta delle mie, coniate sulle due natiche... aggiungendo un "cosiddetta", magari... (se ci sta, ovviamente, trattandosi di adattamento video)

Asker: Grazie mille! Sì, avevo capito si trattasse di una stanza di passaggio per cambiarsi e non sporcare di fango gli interni ma di questo ne parlano successivamente. Inizialmente si soffermano molto sull'utilità che ha nel trattenere il calore quando si apre la porta esterna, quindi avevo optato per "disimpegno isolante" e poi spiegavo meglio nelle battute successive. Proverò a inserire la tua soluzione (anticamera artica) che mi pare comunque piacevole. Grazie ancora

agree  Anna Fontebuoni: http://mudrooms.org/backgroun/An arctic entry is Alaska’s equivalent to a stoop, but enclosed. A mudroom is synonomous with an arctic entry, just more casual, and the word is used more frequently in Southeast Alaska
