Zaporozhe Vocational School Explanation: There is no need to find some precise translation for this, since there is no English name for this, and to translate it literally sounds ridiculous in English. Zaporozhye School of Science and Technology Explanation: If this is definitely a school and not a higher institution, and if, as you say, it focuses on science subjects, you could call it that. Otherwise, I'd call it the Zaporozhye Technical College. |

Юрий не зря обратил внимание на слово "комплекс", так как, во-первых, это относительно новый тип школы, отвечающий современным требованиям. Относительно новый потому, что опыт образовательно-воспитательных учреждений С.Т. Шацкого, А.С. Макаренко, Ф.Ф. Брюховецкого, А.А. Захаренко, В.А. Караковского и многих других – это, в сущности, опыт создания школ-комплексов, только в разное время и в разных условиях. Во-вторых, я не думаю, что только лишь потому, что нет точного эквивалента на английском (а откуда ему взяться, если такие учреждения продолжают традиции советской школьной системы?), можно вольничать с тем, что написано в оригинале. Это все-таки документ на визу (как заметил автор вопроса), а не сообщение в СМИ или художественное описание, где можно было бы обойтись более краткой характеристикой. Была бы школа/институт/учреждение/центр, написали бы "школа", "институт", "учреждение", "центр" (технического профиля). В-третьих, это указание на статус учреждения с адресом, а не самое учреждение (Школа № 70: http://zpua.com.ua/index.php?offset=5&s_cat=37).
