French term or phrase: Bilans (mis parcours et annuel)
Annual balance sheets (here relating to school grant funding). No further information is given on the timing of what I take to be "bilan à mis parcours". I'm inclined to say "Interim and annual balance sheets", what do you think?

TIA.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Yes, that's a definite runner!

Asker: Thanks Terry. Perhaps closest to the rather vague context.

neutral  Nikki Scott-Despaigne: "interim and annual accounts". I think "interim" is good; as with "mi-parcours", "mi" suggests half, but "parcours" is not technical. It does not say "semestriel" for example. "Interim" works well.

"mid-year and annual reports"

Explanation:
I shall focus on "mis parcours", which would mean mid year since there is also an "annual" evaluation. ,"mi" suggest half way. Therefore "mi parcours", considering your context, would be "mid-year" So you could say "mid-year and annual reports"

Asker: Thanks Forti. I'm deliberately leaving it a bit vague - see discussion.

neutral  Daryo: yes for reports, but mid-year of what year? calendar year, academic year, fiscal year? the ST just says "halfway" no need to try guessing of what it's the half

halfway and annual reports

Explanation:
possibly:
halfway and annual summary reports

"le bilan" here is more a report on what was done with the funds allocated, similar use as in "faire le bilan d'une activité ou d'un projet spécifique" not "le bilan" as used in accounting for commercial entities

neutral  Daryo: "balance sheet" is used for "le bilan annuel d'une société" doesn't really make sense for reporting what was done with a school funding grant

-> ... And why not? Nothing strange about it. Schools have to manage accounts, just like any other company

annual and mid-term reviews

Explanation:
In my view, these are reviews (and not financial balance sheets). Mid-term or interim could be used. I would favour mid-term as the context is education.

Asker: Thanks WORDINDUSTRY. My reading finally was that they are reviews (of which balance sheets are just one component).
