Отрывок из научной статьи по клинической психологии "В свою очередь, сама болезнь может изменить коренным образом весь стиль жизни и смысловые ориентиры личности.
Для перевода "смысловой", наверное, подойдет semantic, а вот ориентиры, согласно словарю, это "milestones", "orienting points", но не знаю, как все это будет смотреться в психологическом контексте.

Asker: Дальше в статье есть фраза "ценностно-смысловая сфера личности". Мне кажется, Ваш вариант означает скорее ценностные ориентиры. Я, пожалуй, соглашусь, что ценности человека не меняются из-за болезни, хотя автор исследует больных в том числе с тяжелыми заболеваниями: хроническая почечная недостаточность и Вич-инфекция.

neutral  Elena Ow-Wing: Wouldn't it be "целевые ориентиры" then? I think "goal" and "meaning" are not the same.

  -> I think of "orientation" as implying a goal, and that a concept of meaning is inherent in one's goals. I know this is a loose translation, but to me it conveys the idea better in English.
