ma plume et mon objectif.... = my pen and my camera

an in-flight magazine is not a kind a publication that would help you make your name or win any prize [usually graded even lower as "career objective" than the Sticksville’s local newspaper], and is usually NOT considered by journalists as "worth my while".
He/she is certainly paying compliment to the outstanding quality of that company's in-flight magazine, but it's limited to "my pen and my camera"

I at first saw "objectif" as objective, but given the tone, I am leaning towards it being a camera lens.

I guess we can agree that the intention is to say that the writer likes the company and would like to collaborate with it in some way as a writer (and perhaps photographer).

I don't think we get any further in the detail, but it's basically a thumbs up to the company...

Here's a magazine I'd be happy to work for. My pen and camera are good enough for this magazine!

I read "objectif" as being a camera lens. It might of course be "objective".

polyglot, that is how I first read it too, but wasn't sure as it seemed quite literal...

Judging by the varied responses we have it's not really possible to know definitively the intention of the writer without anything further to help us out...

That's how I first read it too — and it certainly makes sense with the reference to 'journal de bord'.

Then again, I can't help also thinking of the reference to « Paris vaut bien une Messe » — which would to some extent be in the same vein as Nikki's suggestion.

The person is saying :
"Here's a company I'd be happy to work for! I'd gadly trade in my pen and my camera..."

In a more natural EN, the two sentence would probably be rolled into one:

"I'd be only to happy to trade in / swop my pen and camera for a chance to write for this magazine"!
