honours mention honorable Explanation: Web from NZ: "Students may graduate with honours or distinction if an outstanding level of achievement is reached throughout the duration of their postgraduate programme. A student who completes the requirements for a masters degree with an independent research project of at least 40 points, within the normal time limits, and is not required to re-submit a thesis/dissertation, may be awarded the degree with honours. A student who completes the requirements of a degree without a research component of at least 40 points within the normal time limits allowed may be awarded the degree with distinction or merit."
