duplicata de l'original Explanation: un duplicata de l'original certifié conforme IOW, it refers to a notarised copy of a 'duplicata' (Latin for 'replacement' or 'substitute') of the original document (which has probably been lost, destroyed or otherwise 'disappeared'). When a 'duplicata' is issued, it takes on all the characteristics of the 'original' which it replaces. Asker hasn't informed us of the target jurisdiction/readership; 'certifié conforme' is the standard phrase used in French-speaking Belgium (and maybe elsewhere...) to qualify a notarised copy of any original (or 'duplicata' thereof). |
