The primary areas where trouble spots develop are in the vicinity of the dump outlets, from operating condition overloads of temperature, pressure and/or quantity and high velocity slugs of water from undrained natural water traps in the piping system.

When water slug damage is in evidence, the system will have to be altered to eliminate the problem by the addition of drains in the natural trap areas, realignment of the piping to remove the natural trap configurations and/or a change in the operating procedure to prevent or avoid the damaging shock condition.

To asker: trap - ловушка - общепринятое значение. В сочетании с natural получаем "естественная ловушка". Но так говорят обычно, когда такая ловушка расположена в природной среде (напр., в нефтяной скважине), а не внутри устройства (в нашем случае - конденсатора). Поэтому делаем еще один логический шаг и перефразируем более подходящим техническим языком. Все просто :)

Asker: У меня изначально была схожая идея (написала «преграды» с намерением потом поразмыслить над окончательным вариантов). Правда, не нашла у trap значений 'преграда', 'скопление'.
