English term or phrase: bearing information
This specific part of the environmental translation is based on various surveys to identify/track/watch whales.
The entire sentence is as follows: "clicks from different whales are easily resolved using bearing information" "on a plot of bearing "
I understand this is a technique used to separate clicks form different whales but I cannot seem to find the exact term for that in French.

here a similar method is used in tracking sources of sounds - the sound being produced by the animal itself, no need to attach any kind of tracking device - but the principle is the same and includes recording the directions from where sounds are originating i.e. bearings / les azimuts
