more spaced plicae circulares Explanation: ciao Joe, per me il significato è questo. Le pieghe circolari (o plicae circulares) sono più o meno spesse lungo i vari tratti dell'intestino. Quindi queste sono più sottili del normale. Ho guardato anche sull'anatomia del Gray e le definisce grosse pieghe a mezzzaluna della mucosa che sporgono nel lume dell'intestino perpendicolarmente al suo asse longitudinale. A differenza delle pieghe dello stomaco sono permanenti e non scompaiono quando l'intestino è disteso. Le pieghe più grandi hanno un'altezza di circa 8 mm nella loro porzione più sporgente ma per la maggior parte sono più piccole. Distalmente alla papilla duodenale maggiore sono ampie e "ravvicinate", come nella metà prossimale del digiuno. Detto questo ho un dubbio. Il reference che ho postato in inglese parla di spessore delle pieghe e quindi si riferisce probabilmente alla loro altezza ma qui parla di "rarefazione" e quindi sarei più portata a pensare che si riferisce al fatto che siano più "rade" (passami il temine), cioè meno ravvicinate (rispetto alla norma). In my opinion the term "rarefazione" means that the plicae are more spaced (less numerous and less near) than normal, although in the medial-distal part of the jejunum they are NORMALLY more spaced than in the proximal jejunum. So, in my opinion, rarefazione does not refert to their thickness (height) but to their number.
