French term or phrase:sur le même salut
Hi - I'm having difficulty coming up with the proper translation for this. It appears in the following sentence, part of a description of an individual. Thanks for your help!

I think you’re missing the point. Guesses about typos, the author’s writing skills or dialectal idioms aside, it is still incorrect to claim that “sur le même salaire would be understood by anyone as getting the same salary”. That’s just not the case. Though it’s just a stretch, it IS mildly plausible to see the intended meaning as "they are earning the same salary” though but that still doesn’t mean that "sur le même salaire" would be understood by anyone as "getting the same salary". Actually, those two statements are sort of contradictory.
"Elle connait les ordinateurs" Ce plus lui permet peut-être, bien que gérante de commercialisation, d'avoir le même salaire que le gérant adjoint. Elle se prendrait alors la tête et se comporterait comme une gérante adjointe, ne se considèrerait pas au même niveau que les autres gérantes de commercialisation.
not everyone speaks faultless FR / EN / whatever, and this ST doesn't seem to have been written by a member of "L'Académie française", but by salespeople, particularly well known for their "langage châtié". There might be some typo, it might be some weird "argot québécois". It's a mildly plausible option to see the intended meaning as "they are earning the same salary/ they are the same pay grade" no more or less plausible than "they are ever so "cosy""
Francis is correct. Earning the same salary = "être au même salaire". Nothing to do with being a purist. "être sur le même salaire" is grammatically correct but that's about it. Even if meant as "living off one salary", people would probably say "vivre d'un seul/du même salaire"
Sorry Daryo, this time you're badly wrong : "être AU même salaire" = "getting the same salary" "être SUR le même salaire" (grammatically correct but sociologically absurd) = to share the same pay packet.
e.g. "être SUR le même poste budgétaire" = to share one budget allowance.
No one who writes French (or at least who is supposed to) will ever write "SUR le même salaire" when he/she means "AU même salaire". So please do not trumpet that "sur le même salaire would be understood BY ANYONE as getting the same salary", that is just not so.

Could be salaire ou even niveau/echelon...something among those lines. Wouldn't surprise me if that was a typo either given the use of ce vs se, the lack of accents on "meme" etc. Doesn't seem like great quality source material in the first place...

I'm wondering if that means she works the same shift as him, making it problematic since they're exes... That's a wild guess. French Canadians talk funny :)

My translation is inspired by the following expression in French: "la planche de salut", which means literally the salvation board.
I assume that a transformation is taking place within the organization in question and Ms. so and so is promised an interesting deal as the result of having been the mistress of a deputy manager.
