English term or phrase: is dispossessed of ...as to
The phrase like this:" We are modern, this inspired Turkish modernist reminds us, to the degree of uncertainty we can endure. His scattered fiction is dispossessed of any circumstantial resonance as to place, time, voice, gender, agent, action, and consequence."

I wonder what does " his scattered fiction is dispossessed of any circumstantial resonance as to place, time, voice, gender, agent, action, and consequence." mean.

does not contain ---concerning
Explanation:
I think the word "dispossessed", which means to have been forcibly deprived of the possession of something, is wrong here.
His scattered fiction does not contain any circumstantial resonance as to/concerning place, time, voice, gender, agent, action, and consequence.

Not inclined to

Explanation:
I understand it to mean that this author's work is not inclined to be specific or be centered in on any of the stated factors
i.e. does not tend to give focus to a single place, time, voice, gender, agent, action, and consequence.

The sample excerpts demonstrate this - the 5W1H of the narrative is never made clear; for example, where and when the narrative occurs.

agree  Charles Davis: Yes, by "is dispossessed of" the writer simply means "does not possess". "Dispossessed" could be replaced by "devoid".

-> Thank you. "Possess" instead of "contain" would mean the same but be closer to the original.

neutral  B D Finch: I like Charles' suggestion of "devoid", but as the Asker wanted an explanation rather than a rewording per se, that might be equally "difficult".

agree  writeaway: good explanation. clear for non-natives. I agree with Charles but it's frying pan/ fire here because devoid would just be another word that needs explaining.

lacks/is deprived of ... concerning ...

Explanation:
I'm adding these for the sake of variation and choice for the asker, depending on the wider context. The first is milder (basically meaning that the observer misses those aspects in the middle of the original sentence), the second is closer to the forcible deprivation mentioned by Jack than "does not contain".
