with a character / personality of its own Explanation: As I see it, "identidad" carries a certain suggestion of personification: to say that the car has an identity is to see it in some way as an entity rather than a machine. So I'd consider "character" or "personality"; the latter accentuates the idea more than the former, I'd say, and it depends how far you want to go in that direction. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2015-01-12 12:07:55 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Or "of their own"; after "a range of vehicles/cars" it seems more natural to make it plural, even though it is supposedly the range as a whole that has the "identidad" rather than the individual vehicles. |
