French term or phrase: échelles à poussoir hydraulique
The context is very general: "Ce module contrôle les Echelles à Poussoir Hydraulique" later referred to as EPH, in terms of operational control and troubleshooting: Vérifier le fonctionnement des EPH.

The main parts of what seems to be a hydraulic fuel extractor for the feed conveyor are "vérins, centrale hydraulique, circuit…".

I found an enlightening description here: http://www.polzenith.de/pdf/produkte_web_fr.pdf
"Pour extraire le combustible, des échelles à poussoirs hydrauliques poussent le combustible vers le convoyeur à chaînes avec racleurs ou à charnières métalliques."

I don't have much time to sit and hatch these terms. Any help is much appreciated!

English translation:hydraulic pusher
Explanation:
Despite whatever the vérins may be attached to (scrapers, slots, rakes, etc.) "pusher" may be sufficiently general to cover all bases. Either way, it's not going to be a ladder!

You could think of "échelle à P H" as a subset of hydraulic pushers, they themselves being a subset of pushers of all kinds. I would say the penalty associated with an error of omission is less than that for an error of commission. Not ideal, but unless someone knows exactly what the correct term is, the general solution (hydraulic pusher) may not necessarily be incorrect.
You could take a flier and go for "hydraulically actuated scrapers"...
I'm not sure that anything "deserves" an acronym: it just depends how much time the author wants to save.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks, Chris! How would this be different from a simple "poussoir hydraulique"? What makes it special to deserve its own acronym?

Asker: Since this was clearly part of the hydraulic pusher extraction system, that's exactly what I called the EPH, and left the abbreviation "as is". Thanks for sharing your huge technical knowledge and making this clear!
