Der ungewöhnliche anatomische Begriff taucht erstmals in Adriaan van den Spieghels 1627 veröffentlichtem Werk „De humani corporis fabrica libri decem“ auf und ist ein Beispiel dafür, wie sich die Konfrontation mit dem Osmanischen Reich, das für seine hohen Pferdesättel bekannt war, als ‚sprachliches Denkmal‘ auch in der Medizin niedergeschlagen hat. |
