Explanation:
Het gaat hier volgens mij om de lokale netwerken (LAN's) van de afzonderlijke vestigingen binnen een organisatie. Mobiele apparaten, cloudapplicaties etc. zorgen voor een forse verhoging van dataverkeer op het netwerk. Dit vraagt het uiterste van de bandbreedtecapaciteit, met als risico dat de prestaties van bedrijfskritische applicaties verminderen.

Een filiaalnetwerk is in mijn optiek een lokaal netwerk :-) Deze term is echter in potentie veel verwarrender. Zou namelijk ook kunnen verwijzen naar een netwerk van filialen....
