Slovak term or phrase: cooperate

After 13 years as a translator and all the countless times I've seen translated sentences using the phrase "we look forward to cooperating with your company" or any variation thereof I still have not got used to it. I naturally and instinctively want to say "work with" or "work together" as opposed to "cooperate" but now I wonder if my way is more prevalent in AE and maybe cooperate is a natural for BE. Thoughts? I'm unable to keep this over-used word (at least in my language pair) from rubbing me the wrong way, and I'm aiming for the most natural sounding English for target readers predominantly from this (European) side of the pond.

I never asked what the Slovak translation of "cooperate" is! I posted this as an English>English question to get the opinions of native speakers of English as to the use of "cooperate" versus "work with". My question was then (quite inexplicably) moved to the English>Slovak section. Never once did I mention the need for a translation of anything.

We did use "cooperation" in certain contexts, such as when circulating due diligence questionnaires or in demand for payment letters, e.g. "thank you in advance for your cooperation"

I'm sure I wrote and read hundreds and hundreds of business letters and not once, ever, did I encounter "we look forward to cooperating (or collaborating) with you". The standard formulation was "we look forward to working with you" or as Tomislav said "we look forward to doing business with you", depending on the situation. It sounds strange because "cooperation" as the translation for spolupraca is ingrained after so many years of use.

as a noun? "We are looking forward to (future) collaboration with your company". "Working together" sounds to my non-native ears like invitation of a new coleague.

in the sense "vyvinúť potrebnú súčinnosť" (please excuse any Czech influence) - e.g. cooperate with the police.

I agree it does not sound right in this context, We look forward to working with you is the phrase the Slovaks should translate when they mean Tesime sa na spolupracu s Vami. Unfortunately as it is with many phrases, if someone doesn't know the correct way to say it, the'll use the dictionary and cooperation sounds more professional to a Slovak ear than working with....but we, the clever clogs know that to cooperate is more like we won't go against you.
