There is reference to "grands territoire logistiques" in

and a reference to "les 12 grand territories francais" in

There are many other more general references to "grands territoires". "Major regions" seems to fit most of them.

neutral  philgoddard: I wouldn't use the word "region" because it has a specific meaning in France. Here, the region is Rhône-Alpes.
