Explanation:
Secondo me bisogna vedere (in base al contesto) se qui "it kills me" sia usato più per esprimere dolore/empatia o semplice sorpresa, perché a me, per com'è usata l'espressione, il senso della frase sembrerebbe: "it kills me to see that they've demolished your house", per cui lo interpreterei nel primo senso (specie se si tratta di una ristrutturazione voluta dalla moglie, che tra l'altro ha chiesto il divorzio dal marito e l'ha cacciato di casa, come ho letto in tue altre domande).

Se invece il senso fosse il secondo, allora "non ci posso credere" lo trovo molto adatto.
