I checked in my Iron and Steel Dictionary (pub. Verein Deutsch Eisenhüttenleute) and find the following (which seem to fit quite well seeing that working with flat sheets is concerned):
Kanter - manipulator for turnover
Kant- und Verschiebevorrichtung - manipulator for turning over and shifting, ...
Kantvorrichtung - manipulator, tilting device, turning over device
