ich komme mit dem Wort "habitation" in folgenden Kontextbeispielen nicht ganz zurecht.
Ist das ein Fabriksgebäude? Ein Anwesen? Eine Plantage? Danke!

Il existe en Martinique 7 distilleries fumantes, c’est-à-dire en
activité, et 4 *habitations* spécisalisées dans le vieillissement
du rhum :

Ein sehr interessanter Begriff! Unter dem ersten Link (s. u.) wird "habitation" gut erklärt:

"Habitation referred to all landed property whose size surpassed a certain limit which seemed to be situated around 10 hectares at the end of the 18th century. [...] An appended substantive explained the principal activity: habitation-sucrière (sugar), habitation-cafféière (coffee), and habitation-cacaoyère (cocoa)"

Auf Deutsch wird der Begriff in manchen Reiseführern als Lehnwort benutzt (siehe: http://de.rendezvousenfrance.com/de/sehenswert/geschichte-ku...
In anderen Quellen findet man teils die Übersetzung "Plantage" (siehe: http://reisen.michelin.de/web/reiseziele/Martinique-Le_Franc...

Vielleicht könntest du den Begriff "Habitation" verwenden, da die Touristen sich am Zielort so sicherlich besser zurechtfinden werden. Du könntest dieses Lehnwort am Anfang mit einem kurzen Zusatz erklären. Z. B. "Plantagen, die sogenannten 'Habitations'".
