Hallo an alle!

In einem technischen Dokument über Berechnungen von Zuglasten kommen ganz oft die Begriffe truck, truck frame, truck tower vor. Gefunden habe ich mehrmals Drehgestell für truck, aber ist das nicht bogie? Oder ist das dasselbe? Den Begriff gibt es im Dokument nämlich auch. Tausend Dank!!!

Ein bisschen Kontext: Corrected buffer’s height (between carbody and truck frame and between carbody and truck tower (HIGH TOWER with air pressure)).

Explanation:
Another UK expression for railway waggon, railway freight car and similar rail transport vehicles is truck or railway truck.

The trucks mentioned should be as follows:
1. truck = waggon or railway waggon = Waggon (Wagen) oder Eisenbahnwaggon (Eisenbahnwagen)
2. truck or waggon frame = Waggongestell (Wagengestell)
3. truck or waggon coupling = Waggonkupplung (Wagenkupplung)

In my experience, the term truck for bogie (although it is a wheeled truck!) is rarely used in railway terminology.

Waggon and Wagen are more or less interchangeable.

BTW: trucks are also known as goods wagons (waggons) freight wagons (waggons) and, in America are prefixed with railroad rather than railway.

Wagon is the more modern term, but waggon is still frequently used in railway parlance.

BTW 2: it should read corrected buffer height, NOT corrected buffer's height

between car body (superstructure would probably be better) and truck frame = zwischen Aufbauten und Wagengestell

HIGH TOWER with air pressure = high coupling with pneumatic connection (for brakes)

If the vehicles in question are passenger vehicles, then car should be carriage in UK.

Tower - I believe this is a false interpretation of coupling/Kupplung, Tower must be in the sense of towing/ziehen rather than tower, which could easily be misunderstood as Turm

As the buffers and the coupling are always attached to the wagon frame, NOT to bogies, the translation of truck as Wagen/Waggon seems all the more likely.

The superstructure is built on the wagon frame and this rests on the bogies (Drehgestelle), the wheeled "trucks" at each end of the wagon.

I must qualify my comment about trucks and bogies: truck is a term generally used in US English, bogie is more likely to be used in the UK - sorry if this was misleading.
