Sistem alternativnih sankcija u Srbiji je poceo da se primenjuje 2009. godine ali se u poslednje tri godine ubrzano razvija zahvajujuci podrsci EU. Jedan od ciljeva projekta ciju je realizaciju predvodila organizacija GIZ bio je da se donese nov zakon u ovoj oblasti u skladu sa standardima EU. Zakon o izvršenju vanzavodskih sankcija i mera usvojen je u junu a sprovodi se od septembra 2014.godine .

While non-institutional or community based sanctions can be examined its effectiveness through programmes and clients’ point of views, in this study more focus was put on the reflections of professional social workers upon the whole process of offenders’ rehabilitation.
