This is found in an internal document by a French bank, containing processes and guidelines for forex and derivatives traders.

The full context is:

"Il est strictement interdit aux cambistes de retenir un ticket dans le but de retarder ou d'éviter son enregistrement (« affaires de tiroir »). L'opération doit être traitée immédiatement au fur et à mesure de son déroulement.
Tout retard doit être immédiatement signalé et expliqué au responsable [name of desk]."

It's a similar concept to "sandbagging" deals (commonly seen in sales, I gather from my salesman husband!) But I don't think "sandbagging" is a term used in this context. I have searched various documents about market abuse and unethical practices but I can't find an acceptable English equivalent. The closest I could come myself is "bottom-drawer deals" but I'm not sure if this would work!

agree  philgoddard: "Bottom drawering" is a good idea. In fact it doesn't really matter what the colloquial term is - the meaning would be clear if you omitted it.

neutral  Daryo: I would understand that as a transaction that simply vanished for good, here it's about temporary withholding, deliberate delaying
