French term or phrase: Hôtel des finances
Hôtel des finances

This is listed in the instructions on a Swiss corporate tax form as a place to obtain the various required tax schedules that must be included with the tax return.

I found a place in Lyon, France called Finance Hotel, and I see mention of Hôtel des finances in various places, but what exactly is this?

You could omit "local" as it could cause confusion: they handle both national and local taxes.

agree  writeaway: as I showed in my ref below/no prob. It is a well-known French term, unfortunately. Scary place, at least here in Belgium. Inhabited by powerful people out for blood.

neutral  B D Finch: Need to differentiate "Hôtel Des Finances" from "Hôtel Des Impôts".// It matters because of the former having a cash office, while the latter doesn't.
