La relubricación a fondo ha de efectuarse inmediatamente después de la limpieza y eventual reparación de la cadena.
Es imprescindible vigilar que la calidad y viscosidad del lubricante sea la adecuada para las condiciones de trabajo de la transmisión por cadena, tales como temperatura y velocidad; véase apartado “lubricación” y siguientes.

No se recomienda simplemente gotear o verter aceite con aceitera, porque entonces el aceite apenas llega a los puntos de lubricación propiamente dichos, que son las articulaciones de la cadena.

Aunque se gotee aceite entre las mallas exteriores e interiores, esto todavía no garantiza que se lubriquen eficazmente las partes interiores, los bulones y los casquillos.

agree  Olivier Duperrin: Si : fácil pero es muy probable que en el texto original haya una confusión entre bulones y tuercas. Muchas veces, se usa "bulones" cuando se trata en realidad de "tuercas" ("écrous" en francés)
