Slight axillary opacity Explanation: I agree with Elizabeth - this is a term used in medicine for pleurisy. It means the doctor saw a bit of liquid in the lungs along the axillary line. Here is a reference document in French: http://www.splf.org/s/IMG/doc/Epanchement_pleural_liquidien_... Hope this helps! Reference: http://www.splf.org/s/IMG/doc/Epanchement_pleural_liquidien_... |

Small streak (or line) bordering the axilla. Explanation: I would translate it literally. The x-ray consists of black, white and grey patterns. An opacity appears as white or grey, depending on its density. A "ligne" is an opacity of a particular shape. I would call it a streak. It is a description of the opacity, not a reference to the axillary line. Moreover be careful not to make any assumption as to its cause, such as "pleurisy". It could be due to many different things, scarring, infection, tumour - who knows? It might even be an artifact. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 8 hrs (2014-07-30 17:25:06 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- To Liz: Exactly.
