compensation in lieu of (... interest) Explanation: The parsing doesn't fit the most illustrative answer very well. "indemnités compensatrice" is the main part here, and that's "compensation in lieu of" or "compensatory indemnities". the "taux" doesn't really matter that much because the interest rate is less relevant now that there are "indemnités compensatrice". Should the adjective "indemnités compensatrices" be plural? I suggest "compensatory indemnities in lieu of interest" as an alternative. Basically, this amount is presumably some lump sum to be paid, perhaps to put an end to finicky considerations of nickels and dimes paid if the amount is received a week earlier or later, I would think. |

interest rate compensatory indemnities Explanation: indemnités compensatoires = compensatory indemnities (see reference) - IMHO applicable even if the ST uses "compensatrice" rather than "compensatoires" Reference: http://fra.proz.com/kudoz/french_to_english/finance_general/... |
